Become a Green Team Member
As a registered charity, The Green Team has a body of Members who meet annually. The Members appoint The Trustees of the charity at the charity’s Annual General
Meeting (AGM). The Members hold The Trustees to account by receiving their reports on the work of the charity and its finances every year at the AGM. They influence the charity, by ensuring that a variety of views and perspectives are involved in the charity’s governance.
If you are 18 years or over, support our aims and are interested in furthering the work of the charity then please get in touch. You will be able to:
- Have an influence on moving the charity forward and shaping local provision
- Have an opportunity to meet new people and
- Your contribution will help people in the community
Donating
Our local charity – The Green Team, provides benefit to a significant number of people – both Volunteers and customers, some of whom may be facing economic, personal or social disadvantage.
For the majority of our Volunteers, the greatest development is not necessarily in acquiring gardening skills and knowledge but often more personal. Some have faced huge life challenges or have had negative experiences through their childhood or adulthood but by being exposed to such a positive, supportive environment, where we can offer stability, we become the foundation of an inspirational personal transformation and they ‘flourish’ as individuals.
For our customers, who all live locally, the service that The Green Team provides is often a lifeline.

Partners
We work with a number of local agencies and organisations, including receiving referrals from the Job Centre. These referred Volunteers are judged to benefit from the training and experience that The Green Team provides.
We provide Work Experience Placements for college students; offering young people the opportunity for real hands on experience within a supportive environment.
Our partnership work locally has increased year on year and we now take approximately 20 referrals per year from more than 20 agencies and services across Goole and the surrounding areas who are trying to find work experience placements for their service users, customers and clients. Our partners come back to us time and time again, knowing that we provide rich, fulfilling person centred opportunities and a positive, nurturing environment.
Feedback
In order for the charity to move forward and develop, feedback from beneficiaries, local people, businesses, volunteers or agencies on the changes observed, with regard to our Volunteers or the community, is valuable. This particular type of information helps us to refine and enhance the service that we provide in response to local need.

The DNA That Changes Lives
Commercial Gardening and Grounds Maintenance
The Green Team charity has a Community Interest Company – ‘The Green Team Works C.I.C,’ which is a wholly owned subsidiary of the charity.
One of the aims of the C.I.C. is to carry out garden maintenance work at commercial rates for those who do not qualify for the low cost charity service and also grounds maintenance for businesses.
Profits generated from the C.I.C. will be gifted to the charity, enabling it to become less reliant on external funding and to ensure its longevity within the community.
